Here at ADX Media, we’re obviously big fans of Magento web design and all it makes possible for those who want to sell products online. However, as great as this platform is, we also recommend our customers take some extra steps toward making their site as profitable as possible. Here are some of the most common tips we give out.
Track Your Analytics
The world of online marketing has changed a lot in the past decade and is poised to remain equally dynamic in the foreseeable future. What this means is that you’re going to need to constantly check and recheck what’s working for your online store and what’s clearly not.
For example, some ecommerce stores get a lot of business by attracting customers through social media. Other stores get almost no conversions despite getting plenty of clicks and a Magento web design strategy that works on other customers.
If you’re not constantly checking your analytics to see which traffic streams are working best and other important data points, you’ll eventually become a victim of bad advice and your profits will be affected appropriately.
Include Product Reviews
Back when Amazon made the concept famous, product reviews were originally seen as the quickest possible way to get rid of customers. Nowadays, of course, this form of product information is everywhere.
Don’t be scared of doing the same thing on your site. The Magento web design platform makes this easy enough for our team to implement for you. While it obviously means that your products need to be as good as you claim, the results are definitely going to be worth it.
Include Lots and Lots of Pictures
Another tip we’re fond of giving our customers is to include lots of big, detailed pictures on their website of the products they sell. Though it’s probably possible to go overboard, it would be better to err on the side of posting too many than only posting one or two. Customers should never have to answer their own questions about your products. However, that’s what you’re forcing them to do when you don’t give them enough images that make it feel like your products are right in front of them so they can really get a good look.
Remember, too, that like any component of your site, this one will be seen as a direct representation of your company. This is why it’s so important that these photos be as professional and impressive as possible. Otherwise, no amount of beautiful Magento web design is going to convince people that you’re a company to be taken seriously.
Take Your Copy Seriously
Another hugely important factor in the success of your website is the words you use. Just like with photos, they’ll make or break you, so either hand the job off to a professional or take the time to learn how to write great copy.
With sites like Upwork and Freelancer, it’s easier than ever to find good writers at affordable prices. Just be sure to take your time before making a decision.
This advice may not work for everyone, but videos can be a great complement to solid Magento web design. Videos are fantastic for tackling concepts that may take a lot of time to describe with copy or would otherwise be boring.
Once again, if you don’t have the equipment or the knowhow to do videos yourself, it’s not hard to find skilled professionals who can help you at reasonable rates.
Invest in Security
Finally, with any amount of success, you need to worry about your website’s security. It’s unfortunate, but we’d be remiss not to include this advice. During our 20+ years of experience doing Magento web design, we’ve seen it enough times to know that if you don’t employ high-quality security, a hacker will eventually try stealing from you – whether it’s money or sensitive information that will cost you in other ways.
Of course, having proof of reliable security is also a great to include on your site as customers will be much more likely to trust you with their purchase.
Hopefully, these six pieces of advice will help you do even better with your ecommerce website. Of course, if you have any questions or would like Magento web design help, please feel free to reach out to us for help.
